I'm a public relations and social media professional with big dreams and a crazy work ethic. I've had extensive experiences managing social media, crafting PR campaigns and strategic communications initiatives, planning events, writing copy, and creating digital content.
I graduated from Pace University in December 2021 Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Public Relations and a double minor in Journalism and Sports Media and Broadcasting. I am a member of the Communications honor society Lambda Pi Eta, was awarded as the 2022 recipient for the MCVA award for my dedication and commitment to the field of public relations and earned highest greek honors. Throughout my time at Pace I was the President of Entrance One Public Relations where I oversaw planning department events, writing newsletters, and creating social media posts. I created a department strategic communications plan, ran a department blog, and crafted the monthly newsletter for two years. Additionally, I was the managing editor for The Pace Chronicle and an ice hockey coach. I worked as a Barista at Starbucks and as an editor for College Gym News.
I also completed an internship with Magas Media Consultants LLC., and graduated from the Disney College Program.
Through experiences, I’ve gained leadership management skills, ability to work well under pressure, social media strategy development, effective event planning, and internal communication correspondence which influences my personal brand. https://linktr.ee/KatieKreates
This page is just a glimpse of some of the projects I've worked on.
During Spring of 2020, I was enrolled in an Art of Anchoring Journalism class. Through this course, we created a news package focused around the COVID-19 pandemic. I focused upon how COVID-19 impacted higher education teachings.
During Spring of 2020, I was enrolled in an Art of Anchoring Journalism class. As our midterm assignment we completed the first on-camera interview. This interview was with a classmate and focused upon an interesting fact we had discovered though research of the individual.
In the Fall of 2020, I took an Audio Storytelling course. One of our assignments was to create a podcast. I decided to focus my podcast on coaching sports. Another one of our assignments was to reflect on the semester through an audio diary.
While I was an assistant hockey coach for the Western Connecticut Youth Hockey Organization, I also volunteered my time to assist with creating an appealing newsletter, flyers and social media posts.
